HEAT SAVINGS

Important Heat Saving Information

Log homes, chinkless or not, all have areas where air can seep into or out of the home. We suggest a blower door test to see where this is happening, then correcting the discovered leaks by using a chink or caulk compound.

The most common areas to find leaks are:

Around windows and window trim
Around doors and door trim
Along the roofline seam
Soffit seams and areas along the fascia
Log corner joints.
Log lateral seams (between each log) should be chinked if there are any gaps due to improper building or from natural settling.
Please view our service page for more information on chinking your home. For an estimate fill in our "quick quote" form.
